Interrupted by Tragedy

Hauk wasn’t one to typically drop everything for anyone’s call. But this was different. A familiar name on a parchment traveled a great distance to land in his hand while the man lounged in isolation on the beach that fateful afternoon. A man clad in the clothing of his world would offer a gentle bow and a hopeful gaze upon the blonde gladiator as waves crashed upon the rocks and the smaller vessel that was beached not too far away. With a suspicious gaze of those vibrant and endlessly deep blue eyes, Hauk slowly unrolled the scroll to have his expression fall blank as he slowly read from it. He looked as if he was in disbelief as he neared the end of the writing, squinting as if attempting to be sure he was reading the document properly until it softened from suspicion and his lips parted to breathe out a single name that would expose his surprise and emotion. “Ameerah..” Head would slowly lift from its slumped positioning as he read, looking to the man that stood so patiently before him, and then outwards to the water’s horizon with a thoughtful expression of mixed emotions. Most of which simply forced his lips into a resting frown, yet his eyes told the tale of sensations he was feeling within. Finally, as he began to roll the parchment up again, he spoke without taking his attention from the water’s beauty. “Alright.” His voice deep and unwavering, yielding little emotion of what he felt as per usual with the stoic viking. “I’ll meet you here in an hours time.” It seemed his mind was made up. He would answer the call of his former Jarl’s wife. Tapping the rolled paper into the palm of his opposite hand, the man would simply turn from the visiter’s excited expression to head back towards the Tether establishment in a meandering pace as he pondered just what would await for him across the ocean..
